Dear Friends in Christ,
November is one of my favorite months in the life of the church — a season of reflection, gratitude, and preparation. The falling leaves remind us that life itself is always moving, always transforming, and that God is present in every turn of the seasons.
This month, our focus turns toward stewardship — a time to prayerfully consider how we give of ourselves to God through our time, talents, and treasures. Stewardship isn’t just about finances; it’s about faithfulness. It’s about recognizing that everything we have comes from God and returning a portion as an act of love and trust. As we look ahead to a new year of ministry, may we do so with open hearts, grateful spirits, and a renewed commitment to God’s work among us.
We will also take time to honor our veterans on Sunday, November 9th, giving thanks for those who have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and dedication. Their commitment calls us to live out our own faith with integrity and compassion.
Later in the month, we will gather for a special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 23rd — a moment to pause, reflect, and offer thanks to the Giver of every good gift. Gratitude has a way of softening our hearts and drawing us closer to one another and to God.
And then, as November closes, we turn toward the season of Advent, beginning Sunday, November 30th. Advent invites us to come home — home to hope, home to peace, home to joy, home to love. It’s a time to come home to the church, to rekindle our faith, and to prepare our hearts once again for the coming of Christ.
As we journey through this rich and meaningful month, may we each hear God’s gentle invitation: “Come home.” Come home to worship. Come home to community. Come home to the God who has never left your side.
With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Mike
